(Recommended method) – Mr Muscle Kitchen Cleaner Method: Spray cleaner onto the board and let sit for a moment. Wipe off with a lint-free cloth. We find this method effectivly removes liquid chalkpen whilst not damaging the chalkboard surface.
For chalkboard painted surfaces (non-Majisign):
Vinegar Solution Method: A vinegar solution is ideal for removing stubborn stains or marks left by permanent markers on the board’s surface. Mix equal parts of vinegar and water in a spray bottle and spray onto the affected area before wiping it down with a soft cloth.
Baking Soda Paste Method: Baking soda paste is effective in removing tough stains such as grease or oil from your chalkboard’s surface. Mix baking soda with water until you form a thick paste then apply it directly onto the stained area before rubbing gently with a soft cloth.
Magic Eraser Method: Magic erasers are perfect for removing tough stains without damaging your chalkboard’s surface. Wet the magic eraser slightly then rub it over the stained area until all marks disappear completely.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
While cleaning your chalkboard, there are some common mistakes you should avoid making:
Magic erasers can be used, although ensure limited pressure is used as they are abrasive and can remove or scratch the painted surface.
Solvent cleaners are not recommended, including alcohols, as these can disolve the painted surface.
